Bear Run Campground in Portersville, PA along Moraine State Park and Lake Arthur
We’ve come to Portersville to camp so we can get a few more days of sailing in before we have to take the Big Blue Wave out of Lake Arthur which is only a half mile away, but our boat is on the other side of the bridge we can’t cross, so it takes 25 minutes to actually get there!
Across from us sits a $500K red McLaren car! It looks different and has lots of angles to it, but really, a car worth a half million dollars! There are a lot of things I would buy with that money instead….like:
- A bigger sailboat!
- Pay down our debt
- Give money to people who need it to help them invest in a better future and income
- A bigger truck to pull our camper or a 5th wheel so it was less stressful to pull
We continue to learn how to retire. There are people in place to oversee our winery and Inn B&B where we have spent so many hours the past 11 years and it’s not there yet. My health food & wellness center, Natural Options, has been managed without me by a very competent gal and now we are longing for that to be the case with the winery, even though it is much bigger and broader in its scope.
We had dinner outside and the dishes are done. Den walks around the camper like he doesn’t know what to do, and then he picks up his book and site to read. I am typing. If we were home, there’s be work to do beyond the dishes, and writing a blog probably wouldn’t be one of them. It is relaxing once I get started, but so many other things would take my attention. This is how we are trying to actively retire…by physically getting away from the business. Oh, we will do a Zoom meeting with our Integrator tomorrow, and I’ll do payroll tonight, so we are still working, just not as much. That’s where the “trying” comes in, and “actively” by getting away.
